With the computer as a tool, I became an artist divided. Technical knowledge about art always fascinated me, so I took to using my Macs very easily. The important factor is that when "away from the computer", I was then using my hand skills, my talent for drawing and painting for a better purpose. I was in the long sought-after period of getting back to basic "paint on canvas”.

After earning a Fine Arts degree from Kutztown U. in 1972, I took my talents to the publishing field. I was hired by Rodale Press to illustrate plants, animals, structures and techniques in black and white line work. Over the years, I’ve had some fascinating assignments. A wide variety of magazines, books, advertising, branding, and package labels are some of the ways art directors have tapped into my Fine Arts training.
